Mr. John Bopp, Sr., an ice, coal and wood dealer, died at his home, 432 Frederick avenue, yesterday morning, after a long illness.He was born at Segnitz, Bavaria, in 1843, came to this country in 1866, and engaged in the butcher business in this city. For the last twenty years he has been an ice dealer, with his office on the Frederick road. He was married in 1868 to Miss Elizabeth Horst, of Hanover, Germany, who survives him, and two sons--Messrs. John and George Bopp,both in business in this city.He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, of Pocahontas Tribe, Independent Order of Red Men, and of the Frohsinn Singing Society.

The grave marker is badly worn, and hard to read, but the date of birth is either March 21 or 31.
