US Congressman. Elected to represent North Dakota's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1921 to 1933. He was elected unopposed in 1922. He also served as a Member of the North Dakota State House of Representatives from 1919 to 1920, Delegate to the Republican National Convention from North Dakota in 1916, 1936, and 1948, City Attorney of Grand Forks, North Dakota from 1936 to 1937, and as a State Court Judge in North Dakota from 1950 until his death in 1960.
