d/o Henry and Mary (Field) Trunnell. Grew up on Trunnell Plantation. At age 21,she married Thomas Jefferson Pottinger on Nov 30, 1871 in Bullitt County, KY. They had six children. Family moved from Louisville, KY to Indianapolis, IN (c.1901) to Cherokee Co., Texas (c.1910) until the death of her husband and other family. Returned to the family homestead in Bullitt Co. a year before she died. Homestead was owned by her youngest brother Tom and wife Lou. (story of her life under Bullitt Co. History on Internet) It appears from her Cert. of Death that she died in Louisville at a care facility.

Their children were:

2. Henry Robert Pottinger 1875 – 1891 (in Louisville)
3. George Joseph Pottinger b. October 1, 1877-after 1910
4. Catherine Pottinger b. May 1878 to? (Not in 1880 census or Louisville newspaper articles about family in 1896)
5. Marie Pottinger b. Sept.1879-after 1900
6. Thomas "Tommie" Pottinger Infant death 1882
7. Medard Joseph Pottinger b. June 8,1886 to November 6, 1977 (married Mordella Mildred Winston)

POTTINGER-September 4,1934 at 7 p.m. Mary POTTINGER (nee TRUNNELL), in her 85th year, beloved wife of the late T.J. POTTINGER and mother of George J. POTTINGER, Whiting, Ind.
M.J. POTTINGER, Huston Texas, and Mrs.F.W. WARREN, aukesha, Wis. Remains at Gran W Smith Sons 1029 South Sixth Street. Due notice of funeral later.
