Carrol Wayne Cochran, 82, passed away on August 5, 2014 at his residence in Artesia, New Mexico after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on May 2,1932 in Lohn, Texas to Robert and Velma Cochran. His stepfather was Ernest Evans.

Carrol grew up in Artesia, New Mexico. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1950. After high school he attended Draughon's Business school in Lubbock, TX. He worked for Atlantic Richfield Oil Company as a pumper for over 30 years.

Carrol married June in 1950 in Artesia, NM. They were married for 63 years. Carrol was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Artesia, NM. He enjoyed baseball, football and hunting.

Carrol was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Billie Clifford Cochran.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Woodbine Cemetery, Artesia, NM.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
