Jeffery Lee Hankins, 56, Westport, passed away at 8:44 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

He was born on April 29, 1958 in Rushville the son of Richard Lee Hankins and Marlene Joann (Manning) Hankins Moore. He was born and raised in Rushville and has been a Westport resident for the past 11 years.

He had worked for Hankins Cabinet Shop in Rushville and Continental Kitchen in Shelbyville. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Gossett of Shelbyville; his step son, Joshua Lee Gossett of Shelbyville; his brothers, Randolf Hankins of Westport, Rusty Hankins and Brett Hankins both of Shelbyville; his step sisters, Billie Faye Harrison, Tina Harrison, Helena Harrison and Carla Harrison all of Rushville; his step brother, William Harrison of Naples, Florida and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dickie Hankins, his sisters, Cheri Warrick & Montez Joann Hankins and step sister, Mary Garner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home & Crematory in Westport with a time of visitation to be held from 6:00 until time of service at 8:00 p.m.

Following his wishes, cremation will follow and burial will be at a later date in the East Hill Cemetery at Rushville.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
