Lunetta was the eighth of thirteen children born to Joseph and Mary Jane (Hopson) Caldwell. She married Andrew Jackson Rainey in 1866 and they had five children: Joseph Benjamin, William David, Mary Elizabeth, John Morgan and Loucetta.
