He married May Agnes Boudreaux in 1923. They had nine children. They are as follows in order of birth: Marshall Edward Jr., Betty Jo, Dottie Dee, Jane Adele, Joy Louise, Mary Sue, Jimmy Ray, Thomas Gerald and Dorothy Ann.

Marshall died of stomach cancer. Even during this illness he maintained his humor by humorously offering for me to join him in some M & Ms, being the colored bunch of pills he had to take.

RODESSA, July 27, (Special) - Marshall E. Cox, 52, died in a Shreveport hospital early today after a long illness. He was an employee of Magnolia Petroleum Co. for the past 31 years.
Mr. Cox had lived in Rodessa for 13 years and was member of the McCloud Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rodessa Baptish Church, with the Rev. J. J. Kiggins officiating. Burial will be in Vivian Cemetery by Hanner Funeral Home.
Survivors are his widow Mrs. May Agnes Cox; two sons, Jimmy and Thomas of Rodessa; six daughters, Mrs. J. W. Williams of Seminole, Texas., Mrs. S. E. Stanfield of Vivian, Mrs. J. W. Winn of Rodessa, Mrs. James Beene, Mrs. Everett Matthews, both of Bossier City, and Miss Dorothy Cox of Rodessa; four brothers, A. M., Homer, Mason and L. W. all of Natchitoches; two sisters, Mrs. Janie Jeter and Mabel Helms of Natchitoches; eight grandchildren.
