Mr. Smith was a son of Eddie and Sarah J. "Sallie" Smith. He was known by many as "Billy Folger". He performed on local radio and TV stations as well as the Grand Ole Opry and Sunset Valley Barndance in Minnesota.
He was survived by his wife, Grace Smith of Winnsboro; one son, Jerry Smith of Start; two daughters, Sylvia Kupferer of Naperville, IL and Linda Plunk of Winnsboro; two brothers, Bill Smith of Newellton and Oscar Smith of Crowville; one sister, Lena Nell Phillips of Crowville; and 5 grandchildren.
