PAINTER, HELEN C. - of Knoxville was born August 8, 1924 and passed away June 24, 2009 at 1:10pm at NHC. Helen and husband John faithfully attended Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. Helen was a graduate of Rule High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Zelma Cole and brother, Cleve. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John M. Painter; daughter, Terri L. Howard and husband Gene; step-son, John; cousins, Ruby Jean Crabtree and June Campbell of Sharps Chapel, TN; special daughter, Allison S. Turner; and special friends: Bob Mize, Sam Snyder, and Teresa Goble. The family will receive friends from 10:00am till noon on Monday, June 29, 2009. Friends and family will then gather at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 1:30pm for a graveside service with Rev. Sean White officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holston United Methodist Home for Children, P.O. Box 188 Greeneville, TN 37744.
