Imogene Gatewood Gossom, 87, of Milton, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Hickory Creek at Madison.
She was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Trimble County, Ky., to John Edwin and Mary Ball Gatewood. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Milton Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Butler and Cheryl Pettit, both of Milton, Ky.; six sons, Michael Gossom of Madison, Terry Gossom of Crestwood, Ky., James Gossom of Jeffersonville, Kenneth Gossom of Bedford, Ky., Eddy Gossom of Milton, Ky. and Donnie Gossom of Louisville, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Gossom, who died in 2009; one daughter, Brenda Staples; her parents; and one brother, Leland Gatewood.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Milton Baptist Church. Burial will be Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Ky.
Friends may call at the church today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Milton Baptist Church.
