Funeral services for Tommy Nelson Ellington, 63, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with J.W. Kelly and Bobby Ellington officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
He passed away Wednesday evening, July 30, 2014, at his residence in Wills Point.
Tommy was born November 8, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Henry Nelson Ellington and Zonie Marcel Kelly Ellington. He was raised in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. In 1970, he graduated from South Garland High School. Tommy was a veteran of the United States Army. On November 19, 1988, he married Janet Franklin in Dallas. Tommy was employed for thirty-one years by Atmos Energy in Dallas, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed helping others, gardening, tinkering with mechanics and playing poker. He lived in Dallas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1993.
Preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Donald Ericson and step-sister, Donna.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Janet Ellington, of Wills Point; son, Kevin Ellington, of Garland; three brothers, Bobby Ellington & wife, Pat, of Royse City, Jimmy Ellington & wife, Diane, of Canton and Donnie Ericson & wife, Mayra, of The Woodlands; sister, Barbara Ewell & husband, Mike, of Manvel; step-sister, Kathy, of Azle; granddaughter, Victoria Ellington, of Garland; uncle & aunt, J.W. & Janice Kelly, of Aledo; seven nieces & nephews and ten great-nieces & nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
