Major League Baseball Player. Born Charles Esbacher, he pitched for several baseball organizations. He began in 1890 with the Philadelphia Athletics of the American Association then joined the Pittsburgh Alleghenys and played for the Philadelphia Phillies in the same season. The next season with the Phillies, he had his winningest season with 20 games and 11 the next year. In 1893-1894, he played for the Washington Senators and was purchased by the Baltimore Orioles midway through the season where he pitched until 1896. He finished the last two seasons of his career with the St. Louis Browns. In his nine year career, he went 101-100.  (bio by: Robert)
