The death of Mrs. Ephraim Messersmith occurred Tuesday night, at their home two miles south of Monterey. Her age was 67 years, and she was a sister of Mrs. Barbara Hatfield of this city. Husband and several grown children mourn the loss of wife and mother. The funeral is being held this afternoon with interment in the Winamac cemetery.
The age of Mrs. Ephraim Messersmith, whose death at her home in Tippecanoe township we mentioned last week, was 65 years, 8 months and 20 days. She came to Indiana in 1855, and was married to Mr. Messersmith in 1860. Besides here husband she leaves six sons, three daughters, two brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the Baptist church, an was a highly respected lady whose departure is sincerely mourned.
