He married Hallie Monroe on January 4, 1941 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

Jack Allen Hamley, Sr., born September 2, 1920, age 93, of Knoxville Tennessee, died July 29, 2014. Jack was born and raised in Union County. As a teenager he moved to Fountain City and attended Central High School. After graduation he went to work for the Aluminum Company of America where he was a welder for 42 years until his retirement.

Jack loved the Smoky Mountains where he would fish for rainbow trout. He loved to work on anything with an engine and had many neighbors who were there daily for support. Jack was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church of Halls. Jack was an avid football fan and was a UT season ticket holder for 65 years. He and his wife traveled to many away games.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hallie Ima Monroe Hamley, son Jack Allen Hamley, Jr., and daughter Judy Kaye Hamley Malach. Jack will be deeply missed and remembered by daughters Carol Hamley and Teresa Allen, son-in-law Phillip Malach, grandchildren James Mash and wife Leslie, Jeffery Mash and wife Rhonda, Dixie Malach, Jennifer Loughran and husband Francis, Amy Whitfield and husband Morgan, Russell Malach, as well as several great grandchildren, a great-great grandson, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

The funeral service will be held 7 PM Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Dr. Charles Earl officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:45 PM at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 1 PM. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
