He began pitching for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1941 appearing in 36 games primarily in a relief role. He did record 8 wins and 10 losses. The next year, he he was a member of the Cleveland Indians after being waived by the A's. In 1946, he returned to baseball continuing with the Indians after only nine game appearance, the St. Louis Browns acquired him where he pitched for 25 games winning four. The Washington Senators purchased him for the 1947-1948 seasons making 68 games appearances with a 3-12 record. He returned to the Browns after being sold in the 1948 off season. Midway through the 1950 season, he was dealt to the New York Yankees where he made a post season appearance in Game Three of the World Series recording the win of the four game sweep over the Philadelphia Phillies. He returned to the Yankees the following season and traded to the Senators winning two more games in 22 appearance. His last season was in 1952 completing his nine year career. He went 40-40 in 323 game appearances primarily in relief. (bio by: Robert)
