Susie Graham Davis was born to Catherine Smith Davis Strickland and Madison Davis.
Susie was 1 of the 7 children that Catherine and Madison had together in Emanuel County, GA.
Susie was a seemtress and made convict clothes or the state of Georgia. She owned her own dry cleaners and she had place like a bar & grill that made sandwiches and sold beer you could go too and play pinball and such in Savannah.
Susie married Austin N. Kitchings and then later married Luther Hern Moran and had 2 beautiful children. My mother and her sister. They were born 15 months apart from one another. Years after that Susie remarried Austin and they were married until Austin passed away in 1983.
In 1983 Susie had a massive stroke that left her paralyzed on one side of her body and took most of her speech skills. She lived like that until 1990 when she died from complications relating to cancer.
I was always told my various people in my family that Susie was a real sport and always a beautiful woman. I was only 5 years old when she had the stroke and I have a hard time remembering much before that.
I do know that she was a feisty woman that always spoke her mind and after the stroke she had a mean right hand.
She will always be remembered and dearly missed by her children and grandchildren, and those who knew her.
