George Edward Bullard's father was Samuel Austin Bullard (5 Dec 1800 Bellingham, Norfolk, Massachusetts - 21 Jun 1861 Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts) the son of Elisha Bullard (1752 – 1835) and Rachel Rockwood (1756 – 1851).

George Edward Bullard's mother was Mianduel S Gibbs (18 Apr 1806 Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts- 28 May 1866 Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts) the daughter of Asahel Gibbs Jr (1770-1848) and Sally/Sarah More (1766-1848).

On 25 Oct 1873 in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts he married Mary Ella Green (née Stark Adopted Green) (27 Sep 1849 Canada - 22 Feb 1927 Waltham, Middlesex, Massachusetts) who was born Mary Ella Stark and was adopted by Charles W Green (1823 – 1907) and Elizabeth S Stone (1821 – 1896) of Swanton, Franklin, Vermont.

George Edward Bullard and Mary Ella Green had three children:

3) Washington Irving Bullard (22 Feb 1881 Waltham, Middlesex, Massa - 28 Jun 1948 Mecklenburg, N.C.) married 1st Annie Elizabeth Jacobs (1875 – 1965) three children with Annie: Barbara Anita Bullard (1906 – 1998), Charlotte Francis Bullard (1907 – 1996), Edward Jacobs Bullard (1911 – 1972) married 2nd Eleanor Gaither Clark (1900 – 1996) two children with Eleanor: Mary Ann Bullard (1932 –), Sarah Clark Bullard (1934 –). He was president of E.H. Jacobs Manufacturing with hundreds of employees and thousands of square feet of floor space in Connecticut, Rhode Island and South Carolina. He served a term at Merchants National Bank of Boston. He was a vocal and prolific promoter of equal civil rights for woman and published a "Women's Work in War Time," he was also involved in the development of the textile industry in the Southern United State and in Brazil and published "Brazil: The Promising Land" and "The quest of the long staple cotton." He was an inventor, patent holder and developed the modern loom used in textile mills around the world. His wife Annie was a descendant of the U.S. Consul to Brazil appointed by Thomas Jefferson. He traveled extensively around the world and had friends in many countries. A New York Times article features his heroic rescue of his son from a cable car accident in Brazil.
