Anderson - Horace B Newsom 53, Anderson died Jan 16 1998 at Manor Care Health, after a short illness.

He was born in Indianapolis, Ind on Jan 3, 1945 and was raised in Anderson. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1963. He attended Sherman Street Church of God and was self-employed. He was a US Marine.

Survivors include three sons Horace B Newsom II of Chicago and Adrian and Derrick Newsom both of Indianapolis, three daughters, Cecilia (Jeff) Mitchell of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Melissa Newsom of Chicago, Amber Snedeker of Indianapolis, a sister Tanya M (Rudolph) Paige JR of Anderson, brothers Charles D (Janice) Newsom of Lorton, VA and Victor R Newsom of San Pedro, CA, grandson Eric Newsom of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, aunt Betty Durham of Battle Creek, Michigan, uncles John (Marie)Slackman of South Orange, NJ, George (Suki) Newsom of Tacoma, Washington, William J (Sarah) Newsom of Anderson, Frank (Mary Jane) Newsom of Anderson, Clifton Holt of Jackson Heights of New York, nieces and nephews Erica D (Cliff) Smith of Cincinnati Ohio, Michelyn Adam and Stacey Newsom of Lorton, VA, Monique Newsom of Muncie and Jay D Newsom stationed with the U S Army in Korea and close friend Sandy Wilkins and Ray Taylor.

Services will be 1pm Tuesday at Sherman Street Church of God with Pastor Leray Quashie and Brother Freddie Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Anderson.
