Burtle L. Jones
Burtle L. Jones, 67, 1908 Windsor Ave., died at 5:35 a.m. Sunday at Xavier Hospital. He had been seriously ill for two days.
Friends may call at the Behr Funeral Home, from where services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born May 9, 1886 at Dell Rapids, S.D., son of Daniel and Alice Snell Jones.
He resided in Dubuque for 35 years. In October 1914, he married Alvina Detten in Dubuque.
He was employed at the Farley and Loetscher Manufacturing Co., and was a member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish and of the Loras Dads Club.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Luke (Alice) Davis and Mrs. Harold (Idelle) Long, both of Dubuque; three sons, Lyman Jones, Dubuque, and Merle and Robert Jones, both at home; 14 grandchildren, and a brother, John Jones, Dubuque. A son, his parents, two sisters and a brother preceded him.
