MISS VELMA BOEHM AND MOTHER KILLED IN AUTO-TRUCK CRASH

RECENT FINDLAY RESIDENT DIES INSTANTLY AS CAR AND TRUCK COLLIDE EAST OF UPPER SANDUSKY; MOTHER WAS RESIDENT OF NEAR DUNKIRK

A former Findlay girl and her mother were killed instantly in an auto-truck collision at 7:15 o'clock Monday night on U. S. Routh 30-N five miles east of Upper Sandusky.
The dead are Miss Velma Boehm, 28, who formerly resided at 214 East Main Cross street while employed by the City Laundry here, and her mother, Mrs. Anna Boehm, 48, wife of Harvey Boehm, of route 1, Dunkirk.
The mother and daughter were driving in the direction of Findlay, returning from a trip to Youngstown, when their car crashed head-on into a Commercial Motor Freight truck. Cause of the accident remained unknown.
Miss Boehm, was killed instantly. Mrs. Boehm was taken to the Bucyrus Hospital in the Bringman ambulance of Upper Sandusky. She was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver of the truck, the only survivor of the crash, suffered a possible fracture of the left knee. The driver was Adam Karbula, 30, of Mansfield.
State highway patrolmen from Marion and the Wyandot county sheriff investigated the accident, reporting the Boehm car and the truck's tractor completely demolished.
In addition to the father, two sons, Robert and Byron, and one daughter survive. The bodies are at the Katper funeral home in Dunkirk where no funeral arrangements had been made late Monday night.
