Joseph graduated from Brighton High School in 1963 and was a lifetime resident of Brighton. A member of Denver Meat Cutters Union, he worked as a meat cutter for John's Meats for 45 years, then for King Soopers for 10 years, retiring in 2008. Joe enjoyed spending his time reading and playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved animals, all animals, especially his numerous pets including dogs, cats and birds. Joe was a loving father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and uncle who is dearly missed. Survivors included: children Margo (Bill) Kretzer, Brighton, Joseph Schiefelbein, Payson, AZ, Shelly (David) Sack and Jackie Howell, both of Brighton, JR Howell, Platteville, Ricky Schiefelbein, Brighton, and John (Becky) Howell, Firestone; brothers David Schiefelbein, Akron, and Benedict Schiefelbein, San Ramon, CA; sisters Dorothy (Staley) Trefry, Apache Junction, AZ and Virginia Wyatt, Commerce City; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial Services held July 26 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.
