He was born in Rock Spring Community to Noah Delbert and Ollie Mae (Watts) Henry and was their youngest child of eight. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He married Jacquline Gibbs on September 1, 1958. They resided in Marshall where Chip was a truck driver for 30 years, then bought the Sears Store in 1986, and then finally woned the Western Auto Store until he retired in 2000. In the summer of 2005, Chip and Jackie moved to Greenbrier to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers Cloie 'Tiny', Delbert 'Dub', and Bob Henry, 2 sisters Mamie Henry Ragland and Mazie June Henry Baird.

Survivors include his wife, Jacquline Gibbs Henry; one son, Timmy clyde Henry and wife isa of Greenbrier; two daughters, Tresa Rilla Henry Virden and husband Terry of Greenbrier, Trena Lynn Henry Jones and husband Terry of Greenbrier; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were at roller coffman Chapel in Marshall. Burial was in the East Lawn Cemetery with Bro. Gary Kirkendoll officiating.
