Richard Allen Lorenzen, 77

Richard Allen Lorenzen was born on June 23, 1937 in Wayne, Nebraska to Rudolph and Alta (Blecke) Lorenzen.

He lived on a farm north of Wayne for 9 years. After attending country school for 5 years, he then finished his schooling in Wayne.

He was united in marriage on August 22, 1958 in Dixon, Nebraska to Dianne Kraemer. The couple initially made their home in Wayne, and then in 1960 moved to Fort Calhoun.

Richard worked as a diesel mechanic for 49 years. He was rarely seen without a pair of pliers close to hand. He worked at Carl A. Andersons for 18 years as a technician and then was employed with Diesel Specialty until his retirement.

During retirement, Richard worked at Super Bee Orchard near Fort Calhoun during the summer, and then spent November to May in Florida where he liked to go fishing and sightseeing.

Richard and Dianne moved to Blair in 2010.

Richard enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and going on vacations. He followed University of Nebraska Husker Football no matter where he was. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Richard Allen Lorenzen, age 77, passed away in Blair, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne; children: Belinda (Ray) Boyle of Blair and Gregg (Penny) Lorenzen of Tekamah, NE; sister Donna (Merle) Roeber of Wayne, NE; sister Anita Paulsen of South Sioux City, Nebraska; grandchildren: Angela (Justin) Burbeck, Adam (Amanda) Boyle, Nikki (Richard Mossberger) Lorenzen, Eric (Kylie Bertlesen) Lorenzen, Bryan Lorenzen; 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Lester Paulsen, and sister-in-law, Arlene McNew.

Visitation Thursday beginning at 3 pm with family receiving friends from 6-8 pm at Campbell Aman Funeral Home, 444 S. 17th St., Blair, NE. Funeral services 10:30 am Friday, July 18, at the funeral home. Graveside services at Fort Calhoun Cemetery, Fort Calhoun, Nebraska.

Favorite songs played at the funeral were: "Mansion on the Hill", "Ring of Fire", "Go Rest High On That Mountain", and "When I Get Where I'm Going"

Pallbearers were David Paulsen, Mark Roeber, Cory Linn, Bob McNew, Jr., Jody Linn, and Jesse Paulsen. Honorary Pallbearers were Douglas Appel, Kent Clausen, Gary Reed, Ed Smith, and Rollie Bowser.
