The daughter of John Nicholson and Elizabeth (Self) Chastain, she married William Isaac Grimmett. They had ten children, Annual, John Jerden, Robert Beeman, Henry, William Noah, Calip (Kaleb), Bertha Lewellen, Paul Jones, Olivia May, and Ova Jethro Grimmett.

Mrs. W. I. Grimmett, aged 80, died at 6 Saturday morning at the family home at Ferndale, where she had lived continuously 58 years. She is survived by a brother, Benjamin J. Chastain of Oppelo, Conway county; a daughter, Mrs. M. W. Garrett of Ferndale, and five sons, Henry of Ferndale, P. J. of Levy, and R. B., W. N. and O. J. Grimmett, all of Little Rock. Mrs. Grimmett was born near Atlanta, Ga., May 24, 1852, and came to Arkansas with her parents at the age of four, the family locating at Paron, Saline county. She was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Walnut Grove church, Ferndale, after which the body will be taken by R. F. Drummond & Co. to Fowler cemetery, near Paron, where services will be held at the grave at 3:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Active -C. M. White, J. J. Kanady, W. H. Curtis and A. M. McHughes; honorary -N. H. Joyner, Charles Dyer, N. A. McHughes and Hugh Nixon.
