Hugh L. (Tom) Allen, age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN, after a lingering illness. He was a long-term employee of Wall Tube and Metal Products and retired from the City of Newport. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Allen; mother, Blanche Strange; son, Jeff Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Hance Allen; children, Kathy (Brady) Ball, Amy MacDonald, and Kristi (Rick) Hansel; grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Price, Kasey Shelton, Austin Large, Nicole Allen, Jamison Allen, Bailey Hansel, and Craig Hansel; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Jack) Bryant and Betty (Charles) Brockwell; step-sister, Wilma Bryant; step-brothers, David and Terry Douglas; special friends, brother-in-law Johnny Hance and Gerry Wilburn, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Ray's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 Saturday prior to the services. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
