Ray Kenneth Ledbetter , age 82 of Mayville, MI. died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Grand Rapids Home For Veterans in Grand Rapids, MI. A Graveside Service will be held at the Mt. Avon Cemetery of Rochester, MI. with Military Honors being conducted by Mayville American Legion Post #181 and Mayville/Vassar VFW Post #10884 at a later date. Ray was born August 20, 1927 to Dillard and Lena (Sells) Ledbetter in Livingston, TN. and was a high school graduate. He served His country in the United States Navy in WWII in the Pacific Theater and married Joyce Berndt October 20, 1982 in Berkley, MI. Ray retired from Larry Slack Ford of Bowie, TX. He was a member of Juniata Baptist Church, Mayville/Vassar VFW Post #10884, and Disabled Veterans. Ray loved his grandchildren and enjoyed working on cars, bowling and his rose garden. Ray is survived by his wife; Joyce, son; Robert (Margie) Ledbetter of Hatfield AK, daughters; Carole Zegarski of Utica, MI, Sheryl Decker of Wichita,KS., Susan Wagner of Paw Paw, MI.,and Linda Czerwinski of North Branch, MI. stepdaughters; Deborah (Robert) Steingold of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Linda (Robert) Sanregret of Shelby Township, MI, stepsons; Kenneth (Debra) Scott of Hazel Park, MI, and Bill (Debbie) Scott of Vassar, MI and one brother; William Ledbetter of Texas, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
