Menford L."Curly" Broomfield, 77 passed away June 9, 2003 in Las Cruces, NM following a long illness.

His wife, Donna, preceded him in death.

Daughter, Sherra Youberg - husband, Fred; and two granddaughters of Albuquerque; and son, Keith D. Broomfield of Las Cruces survive him. Curly will be missed by his extended family, including cousin, Don Jones, Amarillo; Santa Fe railroaders along the Western Line; very caring Patricia Court neighbors and other Las Cruces friends; by Fern Cotton and her family.

Curly was born in Dodge City, KS on April 10, 1926 to Reuel and Dorothy Broomfield. He was the third generation Broomfield working for the Santa Fe Railroad. He lived in KS, CO and Amarillo prior to his service as a Navy Seabee electrician in the Pacific theater during WWII. He graduated from Amarillo HS and attended Amarillo Junior College prior to his career with the Santa Fe RR.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, NM. His remains will be interred by Navy burial at sea.
