Luella J. Leonard
Luella J. Leonard, age 83 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Thursday, November 13, 2008 in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born October 6, 1925 in Palmer, Pa., the daughter of the late Andrew Whetzel and Lily Blanche Whetsel Whetzel.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband Michael Berish in 1972, her second husband James Leonard in 1978, brothers Averill, Edward, Kenneth, Ralph, Donald, and sisters Mildred Davis and Ruth Wheeler.
Luella graduated from German Township High School with the Class of 1944. She retired from work as a telephone operator for Sears. She was a member of Central Christian Church where she was a member of the J.O.Y. Quilters and Sunday School Class, and a former member of the choir, and formerly served as a Deacon.
Luella is survived by her son Gary Berish of Brentwood, Pa.: her daughter Kathleen Yukish and husband John of Uniontown; three grandchildren Kristen Lewis and husband Jeff, Adam Yukish and Mathew Berish; one great grandson Hayden Michael Lewis; a sister Thelma Taylor; a sister-in-law Pearl Whetzel; many Neices and nephews; and her special friend Bob Craft.
