The only sibling born in his mother's hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, William Henry grew up in Toledo, Ohio. On February 23, 1886, he married Lena Baertschi there and started his family. They were the parents of Ruth, Harold, Dorothy and Charles. He was employed in the auto manufacturing business during the last years of his life. Upon his death in 1915, he was buried at Forest Cemetery. In 1931 his oldest daughter Ruth, now Mrs. Carl Landgraf, authorized exhumation and transfer to Woodlawn Cemetery. In August of that year William was re-interred at Woodlawn to join his parents, several siblings and family members.
