The South Carolina colonial government offered bounties and land grants in the 1760s and 1770 s in order to settle the South Carolina back country. In 1899 A memorial was put in the Fairview cemetery in Honor of John And Margaret Peden.

∼John and Peggy had two other children, not linked here, they are:

James Peden 1734-1811 and
John A Peden, Jr 1752-1810.
