Connie Lunsford Akers, 63, of Middletown, VA, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at her home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Eric Farel. Burial will follow in Marshall Cemetery.
Ms. Akers was born November 13, 1948 in Arlington, VA, daughter of the late Ernest C. and Cathryn Lunsford.
She worked as a disaster reviewer for P.B. Disaster Services.
Surviving are three children Jodi Skiles and husband Wes of Stephens City, Bill Akers and wife Amy of Strasburg, and Carrie Akers of Stephens City; two brothers, Ernest Lunsford of Colonial Beach and Bobby Lunsford of Glen Allen; two sisters, Kitti Byers of Gore and Jane Steury of Warrenton; ten grandchildren, Amber, Chris, Laura, Samm, Taylor, Jill, Will, Mikayla, Jack and Grace; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Chris Skiles, Samm Skiles, and Will Akers and nephews Dwayne Lunsford, Jeff Lunsford, and Keith Steury.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jai Byers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
