The funeral will be held Feb. 3 for Isabelle "Izzy" Weight of Salem, formerly of Eugene, who died Jan. 28 of age-related causes. She was 88.

Weight was born Oct. 26, 1917, in Marion, Ohio, to Louis and Lela Payne Black. She married Ira Weight. He died in 1981.

She lived for many years in Eugene, where her husband served as pastor of the Evangelical Church. She worked as a piano teacher and enjoyed playing the piano, flute, organ and xylophone. She and her husband also served in the Evangelical Church in Lebanon. She belonged to the Piano Teachers Guild and the Evangelical Church.

Survivors include a son, David of Salem; a brother, David Black of Bend; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Three daughters died previously: Lea Brigner in 1986; Jo Ellen Todd in 1994; and Dottie Russ in 2003. A grandson, Jerrod Boyk, died in 1985.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Funeral Home in Salem. Friday's service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A burial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
