Lorene Sanford, age 91, of Bremen passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Hanceville Nursing & Rehab. She was born on Saturday, September 29, 1917 in Cullman County to Grant and Pearlie Stricklin Sandlin. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Sanford; a son, Larry Sanford; 2 brothers; and a sister. Mrs. Sanford retired from Cold Springs Lunchroom in 1982 after many years of service. Survivors include her daughter, Margie Freeman of Bremen; 2 grandchildren, Gaylon (Cindy) Freeman of Trussville and Remona (Ronnie) Earley of Bremen; 5 great grandchildren: Steven (Melissa) Freeman of Moody; Cheryl (Brian) Milam of Pinson; Jonathan Freeman of Trussville; Jeff (Robin) Earley of Crane Hill; and Amy (Michael) Penney of Danville; 5 great great grandchildren: Kristin Johnson; Hayden Goodwin; Houston Goodwin; Emmylou Earley; and Isabella Milam; a sister, Evelyn Bates of Bremen; a sister-in-law, Mildred Sandlin of Bremen; and a host of nieces & nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Hanceville Funeral Home 100 Michelle St. NW Hanceville, AL 35077- where the family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00 PM (lie in-state 1 hour prior) at Addington Chapel Methodist Church with Ray Ponder officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donation to the American Cancer Society.
