She lived in Moriarty since 1980 having previously lived in Villanueva. She was a cook at the Public Schools for many years. She was married to Fulgencio Ortiz who died 1952.
Emma enjoyed going to Moriarty Lions bingo and riding the bingo bus to the casino with her bingo buddies.
Emma was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughter, Dorothy Ortiz; son, Alberto Ortiz; sister, Predicanda Madrid; and brothers: Eddie, Willie, Pablo and Pete Encinias.
She is survived by: sons: Larry Encinias and his wife, Annabelle of Villanueva; Andres Encinias and Mary Ann Sanchez of Cleveland, NM; and Joel Shipman Sr. and his wife, Nicky of Moriarty; daughter, Connie Sanchez of Las Vegas, NM; brothers: Alex Encinias, Anivar Encinias, and Cosme Encinias; sisters, Bennie Lucero and Marcella Encinias; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Robert Ortiz, Gary Sanchez, Anthony Mora, Dominic Shipman, Joel Shipman Jr., and Chris Encinias.
