Viron Ellis Dies Suddenly Rites Tuesday
Last rites will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Seydler Funeral Home for Edward Viron Ellis, who died Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of his father J.B.
Ellis, near Oak Forest. The Rev. M.T. Jenkins, pastor of the Eastside Baptist church, and the Rev. Claude O'Neall, pastor of the Baptist church in Waelder, will conduct the services with interment to follow in the Masonic cemetery.
Ellis, who was assistant vice-president of the Gonzales State bank was out at his ranch seeing to his cattle when he returned to his parents home complaining that something stung him on the back of the neck. He died before a doctor could reach his bedside.
The deceased was born Oct. 26, 1905, at Bartlett, his parents being Olive Dickinson and J.B. Ellis, both native Gonzaleans. He attended the University of Texas, and April 27, 1935, married the former Nell Compton and the couple had resided in and near Gonzales, their home being located on the Waelder highway. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church for some 40 years.
Survivors include his wife and his parents; three daughters, Vironell. Mayron Ann and Cheryle, all of Gonzales; and three sisters, Mrs. Vanda Luedecke,
Gonzales; Mrs. Berta Fleming, San Antonio; and Mrs. Olive Foster of Washington, D.C.
Pallbeares will include George V. Holmes, Palmer Crockett, Ernest Smith, Jr., Byran Glass, Edward Tuch, I.S. Forgotston, William Beall and Tom Wright.
