Edna Helena married Edward Christian Ripley on June 11, 1901, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
When she was a young girl, Edna Helena had scarlet fever which left her with a bad heart, so she did seamstress work at the home of her parents. Her future husband Edward daily passed by the home of her parents, and she would look out the window of the upstairs room where she was sewing, and see him.
After marrying Edward, she continued sewing for husband and their five children, as well as doing all the cooking for them.
Edward and Edna Helena and their children moved to Texas because Edna Helena's doctor felt the climate there might help her heart condition. Thus they sold their home and land and bought a home and land in Texas.
