Born in Salt Lake City, June 30, 1920, to William Carl Allgier and Grace Margaret Bunting Allgier. Married Emma Hansen August 30, 1945. Retired from IML Freight, Inc. after 20 years of service; he was also an employee of Archie McFarland Meat Packing Company for 15 years. He was a World War II veteran who served in the European Theater for four years and he participated in the African, Sicilian, and Italian invasions. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the out-of-doors: hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He also enjoyed gardening. He was proud of his military service with the U. S. Armed Forces and he was a loyal American.
Survived by his wife, Emma Hansen Allgier; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Grant L. (Julie) Iverson, Bountiful, Utah; and Mr. and Mrs. William F. (Shirley) McGinn, Kirkland, Washington; two granddaughters and spouses, Marie E. and William S. Hoster and Molly A. and Mark R. Law; three grandsons, Jason R. McGinn, Trevor W. McGinn, and Nathan G. Iverson; three brothers, John K. (Ruby) Allgier, Marvin J. (Gladys) Allgier, Edward D. "Mike" (Pat) Allgier; one sister: Bonnie J. Rufener; in-laws, Mrs. Darwin L.(Pearl) Allgier, Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Hansen, Mr. Andrew J. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard C. Fallentine, Mr. and Mrs. Clive Ahlstrom, and Capt. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Burns; and his canine companion, Charlie Chan. Preceded in death by his mother and father, a sister, Shirley Grace Allgier, a brother, Darwin L. Allgier, and a brother-in-law, Dell J. Hansen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon, July 31, 1992 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 So. Highland Drive, where friends and relatives may call Thursday, July 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors.
