AGED RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. Jacob L. Day Succumbs to Lingering Illness

Mrs. Jacob L. Day was born July 16, 1856 in Louisville, Kentucky, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bruce McMillan on south Walker avenue last Thursday morning following a lingering illness. At the age of five years she moved to Indiana with her parents and on January 8, 1874 she was united in Marriage with the late Jacob L. Day.

About five years later the family moved to Nebraska and settled on a farm near Blair. In 1888 the family moved to this city where the husband operated a transfer business for a good many years. The deceased was of a sunny disposition, and was highly loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact.

She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Bruce McMillan of this city and Mrs. P. J. Siert of Emmetsburg, Iowa; and one son, Jacob Alonzo of St. Paul, Nebraska, one brother in Terre Haute, Indiana and eight grandchildren. Her husband died the latter part of April last spring.

Funeral services were held at the McMillan home at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon after which the body was laid to rest in Blair cemetery.
