MAX C. HERSCHBERGER
The funeral for Max C. Herschberger, who died Tuesday at his home, 2446 Sherwood, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church, Dr. Lloyd H. Lambert and the Rev. Jim Sutherlin will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born in Jet and moved to Medford where he graduated form high school. He attended Phillips University and Oklahoma Military Academy and was associated with his father, Chris Herschberger, at the Medford Newspaper, later owning and operatintg the Carmen Headlight. He married Nell Fortune and died on their wedding anniversary. The couple moved to Enid in 1946. He owned and operated Herschberger Printery, retiring in 1983. He was a member and elder emeritus of Central Christian Church and a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge No. 501.
Survivors include his wife, Nell; a son, Larry of Lubbock, Texas: two sisters, Doris Evans of Oklahoma City and Jean Brown of Enid: seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors in the church parlor from 1 p.m. Thursday until service time. The casket will not be opened after the service.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.
