Kenneth E. Ickes, 91, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 11:40 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the ER of IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City. He was born on Friday, March 09, 1923, in Blackford County, IN. He married Wilma Dean Crockett on Saturday, July 19, 1941 in Pennville. He formerly worked at Overhead Door in Hartford City and retired as a machinist from Westinghouse in Muncie. Kenneth was a former member of the Hartford City Masonic Lodge, the Fort Wayne Valley of the Scottish Rite and the Crown City Cruisers. He enjoyed boating and fishing in his free time. Kenneth and his wife spent their winters in Inverness, FL.



Survivors include: Wife - Wilma Dean (Crockett) Ickes, Montpelier, IN., Son - John H. Ickes, Inverness, FL., Daughter - Nelva Forrester (Husband, Phil) Rogers, Hartford City, IN., Daughter - Kay (Husband, Larry) Kershner, Montpelier, IN., Daughter - Sue (Husband, Wayne) Felton, Brookville, IN., 12 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 2 Gr. Gr. Grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his: Father - Henry "Harmon" Ickes, Mother - Ina (Capper) Ickes, Daughter - Sandra Anne Ickes, Sister - Evelyn Cook, Sister - Marie Koch, Sister - Agatha Uptegraft, Brother - Raymond Ickes and Brother - Marion Ickes.



Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30PM that evening.



A service to celebrate Kenneth's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 with Minister John Hannum officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.



Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
