She was born in Paragould, Arkansas, on October 25, 1919, to the late William and Clara Garner.
Christene was one of the founding members of Newton Street Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Harvey Henderson Hyde; daughter, Gewanda C. Boggs; son-in-law, Roy "Pete" Boggs; great grandson, Dillon M. Brown; four brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Hyde; grandchildren, Blake and Tina Boggs, and April Boggs Brown; and three great grandchildren, Emileigh Brown, Miranda and Jessica Boggs.
Services were held in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with burial in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
