Perkins, Sherill Robert, age 76, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home in Kimberlin Hgts. after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving wife Gerri and other loving family members. He was a loving and devoted husband, brother and friend who liked to put others before himself. Member of Forest Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Always a farmer by trade and he was named Farmer of the Year in 1988. Preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Grace Perkins; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Barbara Perkins; brother-in-law, Herman Andes. Survived by his loving wife and caregiver Gerri McCarty Perkins; brother and sister-in-law, Benny (Imogene) Perkins; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte (Melton) Jones; sister, Judy Andes; nieces and nephews, Faith (Doug) McDaniels, Jimmy Andes, Hope (Chris) Purgason, Jill Perkins, Wendy Perkins, Kenny (Christi) Jones, Mike (Dana) Jones, Missy Jones (Kevin Boles); several great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to our very close friends who were always there when we needed them, Melton Jones, Faye Hodges, Annette Rollins, Gary Grayson, George Wilhite and also Michelle Slutz from Caris Hospice. Deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his in-laws, George Wilhite, John McCarty, Joyce Verble, June Barbra, Bob and Nan Fawver, Steve, Ron, Tim and Phil McCarty. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM Monday at Stony Point Cemetery for graveside service and interment at 11:00 AM with Rev. Archie Elliott officiating.
