Veronica was born in 1890 in Shamokin, Northumberland county, Pa. and was age 30 at the time of her death. She died from a brief illness of pneumonia, most likely from the Spanish Influenza. Veronica is the daughter of James Burns and Mary Quinn Burns. She was married to Thomas Monahan.

The following children survive her: Mary age 7, James age 3 and Thomas age 1. Her parents of Glen Lyon also survived her, sister Mrs. Mary Titus, of Wilkes-Barre: brothers James, Martin and Richard, of Glen Lyon; George of Larksville and Robert, in France.

Services were conducted by Rev. Y.M. Jordan at their home on Howard street, in Larksville. Her home was surrounded by neighbors who on account of the funeral being private did not enter but chanted a prayer for her spiritual welfare.

Funeral Wednesday afternoon. The interment will be made in st. Vincent DePaul Cemetery, Larksville, Pa.
