CASEY, Ill. – Lizzie Barkhurst, 79, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday in Casey Nursing Home. She was born March 4, 1904, in Clark County to William and Polly Hamilton. She was retired from Casey Manufacturing Co. Survivors include two sons, Ivan Van Houten, Orlando, Fla., and Gene Van Houten, Garland Texas; three daughters, Saretta Perisho, Lakewood, Colo. Jane Turner, Hammond, Ind., and Bernice Athey, Casey; a stepson; Bob Barkhurst, Florissant, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Oblong Christian Church. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Markwell Funeral Home, with Ben Puterbaugh officiating. Burial is in Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
