In 1961, he was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actor (Dramatic) for The Devil's Advocate. Also he appeared in After the Tin Man (1936), The Mad Miss Manton (1938), Golden Boy (1939), The Killers (1946), Crossfire (1947), The Babe Ruth Story (1948), Designing Woman (1957), Sweet Smell of Success (1957), Slaughter on Tenth Avenue (1957), A Farewell to Arms (1957) and ...
