MRS. ADOLPH LAZURE

Mrs. Adolph Lazure passed away at her home in DeSoto at 1 o’clock P.M. on last Friday, March 28, 1924.

Marie Poissant was born Sept. 18, 1845 at St. Michel, Canada. Here she resided until ten years of age when her parents moved to Montreal and it was in Montreal that she grew to womanhood and received her education.

Her family were people of high rank in Montreal. An uncle was a member of Parialiament at Ottawa for years, until his death. Several younger members of the family served like honorable positions.

She was married to Adolph Lazure, February 20, 1871 and came to Nebraska settling on a farm in Grant township up near the old Vacoma post office. Ten years later, in order to be nearer a settlement where they could enjoy church privileges, they moved to DeSoto where they have since resided.

Besides the husband, eight children and ten grandchildren survive. The children are: Joseph, Charles, James and Mrs. Jerry Foley, Therese and Margaret who reside here, Ernest of Casper, Wyoming and Patrick of Ventura, California. One sister, Mrs. Vital Coupal, also a pioneer of this county but now residing in Benson, Nebraska is the only member of her family living.

The funeral services were held on Monday at 10 o’clock from St. Francis Catholic Church at Blair, Rev. C.A. Beyersdorfer officiating, assisted by Rev. Fr. Sinne of Omaha and Rev. T. O’Driscoll of Florence and interment was made in Holy Cross cemetery at Blair.
