Mr. Huggins passed away Thursday, June 05, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 26, 1948 in Farmersville, Texas to Alton and Vivian Downs Huggins.
Dave went to school in Farmersville and graduated high school in Denison. He then went on to graduate from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and started his career in the ministry and insurance sales. In 1992, Dave met the love of his life, Donna. He was a member of Christ Central Church of Lindale and the Oldsmobile Club of America where he won several Best of Class trophies. Dave raised border collies during the last few years of his life.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, A.J. and Brad Huggins; sister, Cheryl Huggins and aunt and uncle, Tommy and Christine Ashley.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 21 years, Donna Huggins of Tyler; daughter, Susie Burris of Frankston; grandchildren, Kayla Huggins of Seattle, Washington, Maigan Burris and Emmalee Burris of Frankston, Ryan and Sarah Huggins of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Lane Hawkins of Frankston; sisters, Mary Mason of Redlands, California and Martha Meadors of Greenville; special cousins, Mike Ashley of Houston and Mark Ashley of Pottsboro.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
