Allen Don "Dough Belly" Quinney, 83, of Lexington, Lee County, Texas passed away on a Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Lexington to Fady Dean and Mollie Gertrude (Muston) Quinney. He served in the U.S. Navy as a cook during the Korean War. The former Wanda Jane Clare and he became husband and wife on February 16, 1952. Professionally he was a welder with TXU Energy, but "Dough Belly" loved ranching and racing greyhounds. He was a member of the National Greyhound Association. He enjoyed knives, beef jerky, and just visiting and telling stories. "Dough Belly" was known for "doing it big" and "his way".
He always helped others and especially loved his grandchildren. He was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda Jane Quinney; his son, Kerry Allen Quinney; son-in-law, Bobby Joe Sanders; grandchildren, Joshua Lee Jones and Matthew James Scott; and a brother, Skeet Quinney.
Funeral services for were held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, Giddings, Texas on Saturday, June 14, 2014, with burial immediately following at Whytell Cemetery in Lexington.
