Funeral services for Elmer Lee Griffin,
87, of Lebanon, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday March 3,1974 at White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the
Revs. Theron. McCloud and Roger Harwell officiating. Burial was in White Oak Pond Cemetery, directed by Holman Funeral Home.

Roger and Barbara Harwell sang "Precious Memories" and "No Tears in Heaven". Escorts were Harold Ross and Carl Griffin, Warren Wagoner, Jim O'Quinn. and Earl Scott.

Elmer Lee Griffin, son of Douglas and Mary Griffin, was born in Laclede County, Mo. November 13, 1886 and died February 29, 1974 in Wallace Rowden Hospital in Lebanon.

On August 9, 1905 he was married to Miss Lillie Broyles: A son, Hershel preceded him in death January 31, 1973.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie; three sons, Guy, Route 1, Roy OSR, both of Lebanon, Hansel K.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Arnold and Mrs. Mary Viola Best both of Lebanon, Mrs. Nell Cox of Fresno, California; one sister, Mrs. Alma O'Quinn, Lebanon; three brothers, Homer, and Vester, both of, Lebanon, Fred of OSR; 21 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren, one being born 30 minutes after Mr. Griffin's, death.

At the time of death, he was a member of the Lynn Street Freewill Baptist Church of Lebanon, but formerly a long time member of White Oak Pond. He was a retired farmer and spent, over 68 years of married life in Lebanon and Laclede County.

He served many years as an auctioneer and was a member of his district school board for many years. He also served on the Lebanon Police Force.
