Jimmie Spheeris

Musician. He grew up traveling in the "Magic Empire", a carnival owned and operated by his parents. His father, the circus strongman, was murdered on the road and his mother fled to California. Later, Spheeris opened for many major artists of the time including Kenny Loggins, The Moody Blues and Jeff Beck. He was signed to Columbia by recording industry legend Clive Davis, and his albums include "Isle Of View" (1971), "The Original Tap Dancing Kid" (1973), "The Dragon Is Dancing (1975)" and "Ports Of The Heart" (1976). He also recorded with Joni Mitchell. He died in his very prime after being struck by a drunk driver while riding his moped near his home in Santa Monica, California. He was the brother of motion picture director Penelope Spheeris ("The Decline of Western Civilization", "Wayne's World", "Suburbia", "The Beverly Hillbillies").
